Advanced Health Day Hospital Group offers same day surgical procedures at a more affordable rate compared to larger hospitals*.  Our services are on-time, fast, effective and patients recover in the comfort of their own homes.

Since our establishment in 2014, we have grown to 9 hospitals across South Africa. Each modern facility is carefully selected and developed to provide our patients with comfort and convenience.  

Day hospitals are smaller in size, yet offering the exact same procedures and lay-out as the larger hospital group’s theatres.

Modern advances in surgical technology has lead to the ability to perform same-day joint replacement procedures. We have already performed over 200 same-day joint replacement surgeries (hip and knee).

*Traditional hospital the average theatre charge can be 30%+ more expensive than a day hospital.

A day hospital, also known as a day surgery or ambulatory surgery centre, is a medical facility where patients undergo same-day surgical procedures or receive medical treatments that do not require an overnight stay.

Day hospitals typically handle a wide range of procedures including; minor surgeries, endoscopies, colonoscopies, cataract surgeries, and various diagnostic tests.

Day hospitals focus on same-day procedures, allowing patients to return home on the same day. Traditional hospitals care for patients requiring overnight stays and more complex treatments.

Benefits include shorter recovery times, lower costs compared to acute hospital care, reduced risk of hospital-acquired infections, and the convenience of returning home on the same day after the procedures the procedure.

Please bring along the following:

  • ID book of main member
  • ID book of patient
  • Medical scheme card
  • Doctors letter of reference
  • Your medical scheme authorisation number


If you are scheduled to undergo surgery, even if it is minor, please refrain from eating or drinking from midnight the night before your procedure/surgery

We cannot be held responsible for any loss of, or damage to items, so please leave your valuables at home. Hospital tariffs are charged according to negotiated medical scheme rates.

Co-payments as per medical scheme rules.

If you are a private cash paying patient, please enquire about any co-payment discounts we currently offer (if applicable to your procedure)

Your doctor will advise you when you may be discharged.

You will likely be prescribed medication to take home and you should follow the directions meticulously.

It is important that you arrange for someone to pick you up.
